It’s important not to think you are a bad person if you are overweight. It’s important to lose the extra pounds so that you improve the way that you feel. Once that excess weight is lost, you will want to keep it off. Most people put on those extra pounds by eating the wrong things. Changing those poor eating habits is important and is the added key to long term success.
When humans lived in caves they spent the spring and summer months putting on a good layer of fat. That was the only way that they could guarantee their survival during the lean winter months. Today, however we no longer live in caves but we retain the basic body mechanism for fat storage from the hunting and gathering of early man.
When we are born we have a certain number of fat cells. The number of these cells depends upon the genetics of our individual family trees. If you have a lot of fat cells there is a good chance that you are a descendent of one of the biggest people in the tribe. Being the biggest in the tribe ensured they had a better chance of surviving the harsh winters. It has been shown that you cannot get rid of fat cells, but you can increase the number you have, but they will never ever go away. It is however possible to shrink fat cells. This is what happens when you lose weight as you burn up the fat in the cell so that it reduces in size.
To ensure you guarantee a lifetime of weight control success, you must change the types of foods you eat, so that you ingest less fat but you must ensure you take in the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, protein, fat and carbohydrates that your body needs to survive. Not only will these help you sustain a healthy body but many of them are basic fundamental necessities to ensure the Fat Burning process is a success.
Whilst losing weight is the goal of the majority of the world’s population, the need to undertake a starvation diet i.e. extremely low calorie diet, it has been proven that this style of diet is always going to fail as the body is programmed to protect itself against food shortages. During periods of food shortages our metabolism slows down and we burn less energy so we can stay alive.
The best way to prevent your bodies metabolic slow down whilst you are dieting, is to change the nutritional composition of the foods you eat. Replace the amount of fat in the food you eat with soya, low calorie nutritionally rich plant foods. This will convince your brain that your body is getting all the nutrition it needs. The truth is you will be able to eat more food and feel more satisfied while consuming fewer calories and fats.
